Thank you for booking into a Standard First Aid with CPR/AED re-cert course.

Course:  Re-Certification of Standard First Aid with CPR/AED with Level C (C includes Adults, Children and Babies).

Please text or email me your card ahead of time to confirm that this is the correct class for you.

If your old card is from Lifesaving Society, St. John Ambulance, Apex or another recognized provider, that is ok as long as it is not expired.

 

Please note you are not able to take this course if:

Your old card is expired (even by one day).

Your old card says Childcare Standard First Aid with CPR/AED level B.

Your old card says Emergency First Aid with CPR/AED.

You require the HCP level (you would take the new BLS course or change to level C).

 

The Canadian Red Cross has an on line certificate system.

Once you have completed your course, you will receive an email from the Red Cross.

It will have your official cards, one wallet sized card and one wall sized certificate that is valid for 3 years.

Notes: Wear comfortable clothes as you will be doing CPR skills on the floor.

Knee pads are provided for your comfort and there is an option of using the table and chair if being on the floor causes you discomfort.   Bring indoor shoes or slippers as the floor tends to be chilly.

I have coffee and tea available for you.  Please bring your own pens, highlighters and notepad to make notes during class.  I also have pens and notepads you can borrow.

The lunch break is usually from 11:30 to 12:00.

​

Textbook:

- digital (PDF) copy of your textbook will be emailed to you before class.  If you prefer to receive it earlier, please email me and ask.

- download Red Cross First Aid from the App Store for free.

 

A loaner paper textbook will be available at class for you to use.

To keep the textbook used at class there is a $10.50 charge. You can pay this fee at class (e-transfer/paypal/cash) if you wish to take it home.

 

Address:  11307-111 Ave (grey house with blue door).  You can park right in front on the service road.

It is on the south side of 111 Ave across from a Spanish Church (Our Lady of Guadalupe).

If using the map on your phone - please do not go to 110 A Ave or 111 A Ave (some people have had their phone take them to the wrong spot).

Bus Route: If you are taking the bus, the closest stops are 1488 or 1122.  The bus routes are #3 or #111.

LRT: your stop will be the Kingsway/Royal Alex LRT station.  Walk west for about 10 minutes along 111 Ave.

Cancellation Policy:  Please note that your course fee will be credited towards another date if you provide 48 hours (or more) notice.  No shows will not receive a refund.  Less than 48 hours notice are charged a $50 administration fee.  The Red Cross requires 100% attendance.  If you arrive 15 minutes or more after the start time of class it is considered to be a no show. If you are having trouble finding the location please phone me and I will be happy to give you directions. I turn off my ringer when class begins at 9:00 am.  Thank you.
